Flatiron

You know you have landed in Manhattan when you stand in the middle of traffic at the junction of Broadway, Fifth Avenue, and 23rd Street and turn slowly around to see the Flatiron Building, the Met Life Building, the New York Life Building, and the Empire State Building. As you head into the West 30’s on the west side of Fifth Avenue, the area begins to lose some of its charm, but don’t let that dissuade you from seeking housing — Many new high-rise luxury rental buildings and condominiums are rising. This is also an area where there are still many “lofts” being converted to either rentals or condominiums. The area is a bit quiet at night, but extremely busy by day.
